Metal Braces
The most common type of braces are traditional metal braces, and they are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With traditional metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile. Dr. Ralph also offers self-ligating metal braces, which do not use elastics and are lower in profile than traditional metal braces.
Clear Braces
Our clear braces are made of clear, hardened silica glass. They are see through and truly the best looking clear braces on the market. They are a bit more fragile than metal braces and are therefore used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. Clear self-ligating braces are very popular with our adult patients.
